In February 2025 the City of Jennings broke ground on a fiber buildout with LUS Fiber, the municipally owned network run by Lafayette Utilities System that rebranded as LFT Fiber in April 2025, backed by a U.S. Economic Development Administration grant secured through the Southwest Louisiana Regional Planning Commission. The build wires Jennings public facilities including City Hall, the Jeff Davis Parish courthouse, the Police Jury and School Board offices, and area schools, with service expected to roll out from summer 2025. Separately, Swyft Fiber is extending fiber to underserved rural parts of Jeff Davis Parish under a GUMBO 2.0 grant from Louisiana's Office of Broadband Development and Connectivity.
